On April 17, 1974, the Session of the Georgetown Presbyterian Church established a trust fund in honor of Mr. John G. Leland, an outstanding churchman, on the occasion of his 50th anniversary as a member of the church. The congregation has consistently contributed to this trust fund thereby supporting the youth of the church in their educational endeavors. On June 7, 2017, the estate of Mr. J. Wesley Starnes made a significant contribution to this trust fund. This scholarship fund is in gratitude to the legacies of excellence and generosity of Mr. Leland and Mr. Starnes.
